Hello Warriors and Battle Buddies!Welcome to A BATTLE WITHIN, Episode 085Today we welcome Ian Panter to the program! - Ian is a TBI warrior from Michigan who happened to suffer his injury while visiting close to our town of Lancaster Pa. for a Tough Mudder obstacle course race event. Unfortunately Ian was involved in an automobile accident which placed him in a coma for over a week over 12 hours from home. Listen in to the story of a warrior who had the backing of his family, friends and fellow "mudders" community during this process.Even though life changed drastically for him that day and he lost his ability to compete in an activity he thoroughly enjoyed, he has found a new way of being and is grateful in it. Ian Panter has an amazing story of how a positive attitude and resilience can help a person defy the odds.  After finishing a Tough Mudder in Philadelphia in 2017, Ian was in a devastating car accident that left him in a coma.  His journey from a coma to his remarkable recovery included inpatient PT, OT, speech therapy, a whole lot of positive attitude and belief in his ability to walk again, and an immense amount of support and love from his friends, family, and the Tough Mudder community. 106: Overcoming Obstacles with Ian Panter

Ian Panter ran 30 miles at World’s Toughest Mudder in 2016. The last eight of those miles were on a broken foot. In 2017 after running Tough Mudder, he was a passenger in a car getting a ride back to his hotel. He was planning on running Toughest Mudder Philly that night and wanted to catch a quick nap before start time at midnight. As his car was leaving the venue he was hit by another car.
