 In this episode we will  explore the   journey of Kevin Barrow, which began in Brooklyn,  Barbados,  and Connecticut.   Kevin had the challenges of growing up in pre-gentrified Brooklyn  in an immigrant family and being treated as a minority's minority while growing up in Connecticut. Kevin had the additional challenge of having to deal with dyslexia and being color blind  - but this gave Kevin a "diversity of perception" and  he managed to change this "perceived" negative into a positive.  Kevin sees the world  through  a different lens, which has given him some "super powers". We follow his journey...  all the way to Cisco.... in his current role as  Technical Marketing Engineer responsible for our cutting edge collaboration solutions.

My guest today is Kevin Barrow, CEO of Butterfly Foundation, an incredible not for profit organisation whose mission is to see all Australians living free of eating disorders. Through their national hotline, support services and early intervention programs, they work to raise awareness, reduce stigma and bring hope to people battling eating disorders and body image issues. Kevin talks about some of the signs to look out for particularly in young people and that early intervention is the best way to prevent an eating disorder from developing. KGB (Kevin Gordon Barrow) is the Founder &amp; CEO of Mark Labs, a software company which helps organizations effectively manage the risk associated with funding social impact projects. He is a serial social entrepreneur, having worked on startups dealing with education, environmental protection, campus safety, mobile health, and rural broadband access. Prior to embracing his inner social entrepreneur, KGB earned his stripes in the fields of law (GE), banking (ABN AMBRO), and management consulting (Deloitte and Booz Allen Hamilton). KGB completed his higher education in the UK earning an Honours Law Degree from Durham and an MBA from Oxford. He is an an avid reader, lover of Sufi poetry, and an aspiring surfer.
