Starting with a small record collection in 2013, she began her trajectory as a DJ in Quito, being one of the few women in the scene. Her profound interest in House, Disco, Acid, Breakbeat and Techno has always marked a very determined style in her sets, incorporating different melodies and shades from various decades (especially the 90s). As a DJ, Silvia looks to connect with her listeners in a friendly, interesting and easy way. "This set was recorded at home along with my cats, looking to share some of the pieces I’ve been djing lately representing special and energetic moments through dancefloors these past few weeks. I’ve been focusing on storytelling, trying to take listeners through a journey with music. Belfast selector, promoter and producer Bobby Analog has a long history of playing and creating music for dancefloors which has seen his career move in somewhat of an upward trajectory in recent years."Mix was recorded in my tiny little studio space using my 1200's and an Allen &amp; Heath Xone 23. I had a couple of different directions for this but I ended up showcasing my love for New York garage house, so expect lots of early Strictly Rhythm, Kerri Chandler and Mateo &amp; Matos theres even a little AVH in there. Since then he’s been a key figure in developing the brand into a good time party beacon that’s seen their flamboyant Ibiza parties go from strength to strength with each season. We've read that he’s enigmatic (he's not really, he’s very friendly, just unconcerned with hype). Apparently he makes 'Soulful House' (he sometimes does, but not 'soulful' in inverted commas, and he’s just as likely to be making disco or techno, or even hip hop... He's 1/2 of our favourite discovery this year Pan Amsterdam). He’s certainly always busy!In between the recent launch of his new edits label “Hot Peas N Butter”, and his upcoming sophomore solo album "Non Zero Sum Game" (due in mid October on his own Shadeleaf Music), 'monkz takes time out to drop us a guest mix somewhere in between the rare and the raw, filled with everything from disco steppers to analogue footworkers.
