This podcast follows a familiar format shared by other shows on this network, Trek FM. It dives into the details of the show and how it relates to the franchise. The podcast asks questions of the Picard show and discusses it in a way that is both playful and entertaining. You don’t have to be a full on nerd to enjoy the conversation, but it is more enlightening if you are. The hosts inject humor that breaks the fourth wall by bringing in outside references such as Spaceballs to remind us not to take everything inside our mythos too seriously. In the end it’s the story that counts. In a way this is like having a conversation at the school lunch table about what we love and everyone is invited to pull up the third chair and listen in. In “Stardust City Rag,” the crew of La Sirena go on a mission to find cyberneticist Bruce Maddox. They trace him to a city where it seems almost anything goes and any sort of official law is a distant memory. Picard and the Romulans. At the beginning of The Next Generation, the Federation and the Romulans had barely had any contact for more than 50 years. We’ve also been introduced to previously unknown aspects of Romulan society, such as the secretive Zhat Vash. In “Absolute Candor,” another fascinating part of Romulan society comes to light: the Qowat Milat, a sect of women warrior nuns who have pledged to tell the truth at all times.
