In this episode we discuss podcasting, life in lockdown and communications throughout the ages - starting with letters and the emergence of telephones, to the internet, digital communications and podcasting. We discuss how the means of communications have evolved since Johan grew up in the 1930s and how she stayed in touch with her brother, who emigrated to Australia as part of the "Bring Out a Briton" campaign. For reference: In 1959, his crossing to Australia cost 10 GBP, which is approximately 200 GBP today. If you want to find out more about the Bring OUt a Briton campaign, check out this video made by the Commonwealth Film Unit in 1957.  We also discuss lockdown fashion, Scottish accents and telephones from the 1960s.
