Brian&#39;s podcast is about as pro as they come. He beams authenticity, and I love that he focuses on the positive aspects of life, particularly when doing guest interviews. It&#39;s kind of rare (sadly) today to find something that leaves you feeling better after you&#39;ve heard it; so much today is negative or just &#34;complainy.&#34; The Real Brian Show is a ray of positive light in a gloomy, drama-filled world. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

164: I Love the Smell of the Ozone | With Captain Influence, JonnyPistolShot, and SevenBlueSeven

Welcome back to The Real Brian Show! We'd like to invite you back to our room in this episode to see the view, if you know what we mean. Don't know what we mean? Well, then it's good we brought Martin (aka The Flash) back. In This Episode  Texting &amp; Driving. Really?! The Flash returns! Phone and Social Media Addiction  Come See the View I'll let Brian and Martin share the full story of where this line became a comedic staple of our friendship, but it falls into the category of not realizing what you've said until after you've said it! Witty banter and friendly jabbing requires a healthy dose of euphemisms and double entendres. If I'm not mistaken, we stumbled into this particular double entendre at DragonCon with the second guest of this episode, Martin (aka The Flash). It was a memorable weekend and lives on through the inside jokes we carefully cultivated. Over the last several years, many of the best friendship I've developed have been as a result of podcasting. We've had Martin guest host on The Real Brian Show before, but the first time we ever got to chat with him was way back on The Flash podcast Brian and I hosted for a half-season at Golden Spiral Media. Martin, being a pretty big Flash fan himself, was an expert witness in our ramp-up episodes. Prior to that, Martin became a huge part of the TV Talk community by providing regular contributions to the shows he watched and listened to and it's been amazing to see how one thing has led to another. And before we knew it, Brian was inviting him back to his room to see the view. Or was he inviting me? I can never remember. Ha. Haha. Phone and Social Media Addiction Martin and Brian touch on an increasingly popular topic in this episode, that of millennials in the workplace. The discussion was spawned by this Simon Sinek interview on Inside Quest with Tom Bilyeu, in which he highlights the perceived problem of millennial's performance in the workplace and their social media-driven dopamine addiction. I was born in the late 80s and am technically considered a Millennial, so as much as I often agree with the observations put out there by folks like Simon, I also know that there are exceptions. Interestingly, I was reading an article this past weekend about how I am on the cusp of the Millennial generation. Even though I fall into that era, I still remember what a household without a personal computer was like. I still remember the novelty of using an old Mac to play an 8-bit version of Oregon Trail in the school computer lab. I went through junior high and high school without social media (heck, I didn't even have a cell phone). My parents raised me in a frugal household, not an entitled one. And for that I am tremendously thankful. I watched my dad's incredible work ethic and strive every day to emulate his example. That said, I really was on the cusp of the Millennial generation and I don't think I am either the exception or the rule; I think it was about my graduation class that began to go either way, until social media helped spur on the de-evolution of our society. My opinion, obviously. Simon draws attention to some of the inadvertent behaviors Millennials exhibit in the workplace; behaviors that aren't entirely their fault, and yet are invalid excuses in the real world. Parents treating their children with an entitled hand, for example (i.e. participation trophies), are setting kids up for disappointments later in life. It's not entirely the child's fault, other than the fact that they aren't being taught to simultaneously stand up to hand-outs. We've talked about adversity on this show and how even when we're faced with a bad lot in life, it's entirely possible to use adversity to fuel our rise to success. But how do you tell a generation of children who were given participation trophies that the real enemy isn't their employers who expect them to show up to work on time...but an entire childhood worth of "you're special!" commentary? Of course they're special; but they're not so special that they can show up to work 2 hours late every day and expect to keep their job. One of my favorite aspects to this interview Simon gave is the emphasis he puts on imbalance as the ultimate culprit, not the behavior. The behavior is a result of imbalance; there is nothing inherently wrong with Facebook, but too much time spent on Facebook is wrong. The behavior can be corrected by fixing the imbalance and will never be corrected by criticizing or attacking the behavior itself. What is your take on the Simon interview? Let us know! When I choose to adopt these methodologies in my own life, I am surprised to find that the life I want while I'm living selflessly is very different from what I want when I'm living for myself. Keep the Bedroom Sacred I know where your mind went with that header! Reel it back in so that I can expound on this sacredness I speak of. Brian explains his new morning routine in this episode and it involves not keeping his cellphone in his bedroom. No more with the cellphone alarm clock! no more with the social media wake up ritual! What do you think you'd do instead when you wake up in the morning without technology within reach? If the routine itself isn't appealing to you, maybe science will change your mind. Several years ago, when smart phones really began to explode, we began to see a lot of fundamental aspects of our culture change. In addition to texting while driving, looking at your phone while crossing the street, and Googling (or asking Siri about) everything you don't know, the physical side effects of LCD screens began to emerge. According to many scientists, LCD screens have a legitimate negative effect on our health. Eye strain (including blinking less and what is called "Near Point Stress Syndrome"), headaches, sleepless nights... they are not just things Mom said to get us to put down our phones.  Articles in everyday publications, such as Forbes, brought up the excellent point of LCD being non-existent throughout human history up until the last thirty years. Until the last ten years or so, the human body has never been exposed to the degree of exposure to LCD screens that we force on them now. Some scientists would posit that these screens go so far as to trick our bodies into thinking it's daylight when it may be the middle of the night. Have you ever crawled in bed, tired and exhausted, feeling like you could fall asleep within seconds... but then you pull out your phone, maybe for something as innocent as turning it to silent mode or setting the alarm, only to find a half-hour has passed and you've thoroughly perused Facebook? And at that point you're not even tired anymore? We have a problem! Bringing that distracting nonsense into the bedroom is not necessary. Try keeping the bedroom sacred, remove LCD screens from the bedroom for a couple weeks and see what changes. Create the Life You Want What an incredible conversation with Kate this week. I've heard Kate interviewed many times, not just by Brian too (she was a guest on Profitcast), and I'm always thrilled to hear her articulate aspects of herself that I am unable to put into words about myself. Early in this episode she talks about her behavior when entering a party or a group of people, and her approach deeply resonates with me. I followed up Brian's discussion of standing up for ourselves last week with a little commentary of my own and basically tried to get across that what finally clicked for me was understanding the connection I had to a group of people that enabled me to do what I was good at confidently. Not unlike Kate's own realization of, "What am I doing?" when carefully evaluating her approach to mingling, I realized, as far as networking and socializing is concerned, that what was missing for me, to be bold in the midst of strangers, was a lack of connection. I didn't know how I connected to all these people. Instead of it being a point of fear, I used it as a challenge. I rose up out of my introverted, I'd-rather-be-home-with-a-good-book nature and created the atmosphere I wanted.  The entire interview with Kate is filled with so much excellent material that I don't even want to approach a recap of it all here. They talk about paying it forward, being nice to people and saying hello, and how that can fundamentally change your own day as well as perfect strangers. They talk about how attitude is the front-runner to perspective, how without a good attitude everything that happens results in a perspective with a murky lens. The picture they paint for us, the conversation as a whole, sets up this model of what it means to create the life you want. The life we want is full of choices; and that's not just, 'What do I want to do for a living?' or 'Should I get married?' But daily asking ourselves, 'What attitude am I going to wear today?' and 'How can I treat those around me with the respect they deserve?' Joining me today is Blue Phoenix (Spencer), who is actually an old friend of mine. He has an incredibly powerful and, yet, difficult story to share with us today. He’s been through a lot in his life, and yet his attitude and response to these challenges is an amazing inspiration on how he’s overcome and unleashed his superhero. Spencer had an arrest of his heart years ago that caused him to, essentially, die for 11 minutes. Thankfully, he was brought back to life and to recovery. Unfortunately, the down time caused his kidneys to eventually fail, leading to the need for kidney dialysis and the search for a kidney donor. It took both of these events to create a wake up call for Spencer. Spencer's attitude and response to these things is an amazing example of someone who has and continually unleashes his superhero on a daily basis. Become the Best You If anyone has ever told you, play to your strengths, you'll perhaps understand why it is such a commonly used phrase. The things that come naturally to us, whatever that might be, are inherent skills that are essential to leverage. These skills come so easy that it feels like we're cheating when we use them. Hint: you're not cheating! The discussion on the podcast this week, between Brian and special guest Jason Van Orden, has a lot to do with taking an inventory of life and breaking it down into bite sized pieces. In order to become the best you, it certainly is necessary (or helpful, at the very least) to know thyself. But it's hard to be successful in our diverse world when all we know is ourself. There is a discovery task, inherent in know thyself that requires us to participate in the world and understand the people with whom we live and work so that we might deliver what is needed or wanted rather than something we think is needed or wanted. I've heard Jason interviewed a couple times and have always been impressed with his origin story. Borne of the entrepreneur vein, his highly marketable skill of software engineering fit the mold of what I just wrote above. He recognized his own skill and found an avenue through which that skill was profitable to the wider world. But in the course of breaking down what exactly that skill was, he discovered a more granular ability that allowed him to break away from a cubicle and embrace a wider audience. New TRBS Format Brian has an idea for how to change things up on the show and would love your feedback! Right now, every week you get one episode a week that's anywhere between an hour and just under two hours long. I will freely tell anyone I'm 33 years old, and until I listened to this episode, that didn't feel particularly well-advanced in years. Now I'm reminiscing back to teenage-me, when I was thinking that thirty-somethings were so entrenched in work and kids and taxes, which explained why they were so disconnected from pop culture. And I'm realizing that I am that out-of-touch mom whose clothes were in style, like, ten years ago, and who is shocked when she turns on the radio and hears music from her high school years playing on the oldies station. Is this the beginning of my mid-life crisis? Is it happening now?  Truthfully, I'm very happy with where I am in my life. I have an adorable husband (married 11.5 years!), four gooberlicious children, a house, and a bunch of responsibilities I could never even have dreamed of when I was 19 years old. But listening to Caffeinatrix and Mr. Non-Renewable was a breath of fresh air for me.  You see, they reminded me what it was like to have freedom to travel the world and capture life's little moments of joy. I mean, check out Natalie's Instagram. Look at all the places she visits. Her pictures, even if they're only taken with a T3i, are amazing. Don't you want to be there, having fun with her?! And then we've got Cole's Instagram. This guy's photographs and videos are vibrant, exciting, and full of energy and passion that is severely lacking in my day-to-day life. Don't you want to get to know him better?  Beyond their social media accounts, both Caffeinatrix and Mr. Non-Renewable are outspoken about their expectations of respect, both for themselves and for others. They know what it takes to have positive interactions with people, and they really want to work to make the world a better place, even if it's just one little smile at a time. What profound wisdom they've gained from working in a customer service position-- they know that sometimes you truly need to reach out and ask how someone's doing, and find a way to make sure they know you care. They're right, guys. We all need a reminder every now and then. Someone cares. Someone truly wants to know how you're doing. On the flip side of that coin, someone needs you to care. Someone needs you to ask how they're doing. And to listen, even when the answer is, "I'm not doing so good." That's your chance to breathe fresh air into their life. Can you see the good in bad? It can be one of the most difficult and rewarding challenges in life. Not to live in the past, but learn from it. Not to obsess over mistakes, but grow because of them. Brian and Tony dig into the meat of this concept and also into our other, familiar nerdy topics! Sometimes we get sucked into negativity and before we know it, we're going along with the hoard. The hoard can be horrible and the mood of that hoard contagious. We throw out quotes, like the one above, or idioms like 'is the glass half full or half empty?' in order to glean some insight into someone else's mindset, but often the bad can creep into our lives and minds in ways we're not expecting. Before you go and say, 'Well, everyone is just getting meaner. And more cruel.' Let us remind you of a couple pretty horrific events of human history: Nazi Germany. World War I. World War II. Rwandan genocide. Maybe your rebuttal is, 'Yeah, but those are the worst of them.' The fact is... no. Those events were the culmination of evil and hatred in human hearts, not a random rebellion against human nature. Some pretty terrible events have taken place before we were born, and still not that long ago. Are things really getting worse? Well, we certainly have more visibility into the atrocities happening, thanks to the internet connecting us the entire world. What's the point? The point is that we're flawed beings. I believe that someone's intentions can be good, but our inner nature is not good. It is our responsibility, and our challenge, to rise above selfishness and put the needs and interests of others ahead of our own. And in everything, try to find a balance! It isn't that we ignore our own needs and only focus on others, but that we learn how to co-exist with others. Share the road! Smile at people when you pass by! Hold the door open for the next person. And beyond those we can see, think about the people who have yet to be born by conserving resources and recycling! He takes a collective, rather than factioned, approach to acceptance and encourages the recognition of all people groups. I don’t. Well, I did after I Googled it. It’s interesting, though, in thinking about my perception of community based on the degree of involvement I have. After visiting Fort Collins myself, last summer, and seeing how it truly is one of the best places to live, it’s a little underwhelming to return to my suburban Minnesota home, look around, and wonder who in the world is running this place. Our reluctance, lack of interest, or lack of time that prevents us from getting involved in local politics may be an underlying problem in why communities suffer. When different people groups seek public recognition from their elected officials, a focus is taken off of community and instead isolated to a faction of that community. Rather than dismissing a people group, or undervaluing the diversity in a community, Mr Troxell’s approach is remarkably inclusive. Fort Collins recognizes that a community is made of of co-creators, of individuals who must work together in order to produce an atmosphere of inclusion. Opening the door for someone else or opening a small business to serve the community doesn’t require the acknowledgement of a people group. There is an opportunity to encourage members of a community, united under this banner of a city for all, to work toward building something that isn’t founded on inclusion at the exclusion of others. Ready to get involved in local politics yet? Fort Collins has been working toward something big and cool for a long time, it may take some elbow grease to see the same results in your own community. In this era of the U.S., when so much hate is being thrown back and forth, we could do with a lot more folks like Mayor Wade Troxell who sees the potential in the co-creators living and working around him. Happy BLACK FRIDAY! Happy Thanksgiving! TODAY! We have some more thoughts on The Mandalorian (episode 3). We have 5 reasons that being thankful is actually really beneficial for you. We also share some Black Friday shenanigans and history behind Black Friday. TRB's computer was having problems... but we think it's fixed. Miss Light made some glorious healthy peanut butter cups!! Is ganking respectful or not? AND! We have our usual stories and nerding out on things we love! In This Episode  TRB's computer woes... Black Friday history and shenanigans 5 Reasons Being Thankful is Beneficial for you The Mandalorian – episode 3 thoughts Is ganking respectful? What's it like in real life? HEALTHY Peanut Butter Cups! Stuff we are all nerding out on, and not apologizing for it! Deep Thoughts!  Healthy Peanut Butter Cups (courtesy of Abel James) Wild Peanut Butter Cups      Prep time 15 mins   Cook time 5 mins   Total time 20 mins     These homemade Wild Peanut Butter Cups are incredibly easy to make, and far tastier than anything you'll find in a package. Feel free to substitute peanut butter with almond butter, sunflower seed butter, or other nut/seed butters to change up the flavors.  Author: Abel James Serves: 12      Ingredients  9-ounces dark chocolate chips (or milk or white chocolate) TRB's notes: the higher quality the chocolate, the better it will taste! 1 teaspoon coconut oil (or grass-fed butter) 1 cup peanut butter, no sugar added (or almond butter or other nut/seed butter) TRB's notes: Again, the better quality the peanut butter, the better! :) 2 tablespoons coconut palm sugar dash of stevia, to taste (TRB does NOT use this, but feel free if you want. They're plenty sweet with the chocolate) dash of sea salt 12 paper muffin cups (cut down to about 1” high) Optional toppings: Nuts, berries, sea salt, coconut flakes       Instructions  Cut 12 paper muffin cups down to about 1” high, and place in a muffin tin. Set aside. In a small pot or double-boiler set over lowest heat, melt the chocolate with the coconut oil, stirring regularly, until just completely melted. Set aside to slightly cool. In a mixing bowl, stir together peanut butter with coconut palm sugar, stevia, and sea salt. Taste and add a dash more coconut palm sugar, stevia and/or salt, to taste. Form the peanut butter dough into 12 small patties. Pour about a teaspoon of chocolate mixture into the bottom of each muffin cup. Place one peanut butter patty onto each dollop of chocolate. Cover each patty with remaining chocolate. If adding toppings, go ahead and lightly press them into the tops of the peanut butter cups. Freeze for 30 minutes or refrigerate one hour to set. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator, and enjoy straight from the fridge.      Notes Alternately, you can use a mini muffin tin to make “bite-sized” candies for a small taste of something delicious and sweet. What's it like in real life?</li> <li>HEALTHY Peanut Butter Cups!</li> <li>Stuff we are all nerding out on, and not apologizing for it!</li> <li>Deep Thoughts!</li> </ul> Healthy Peanut Butter Cups (courtesy of Abel James) Wild Peanut Butter Cups   Prep time 15 mins Cook time 5 mins Total time 20 mins   These homemade Wild Peanut Butter Cups are incredibly easy to make, and far tastier than anything you'll find in a package. Feel free to substitute peanut butter with almond butter, sunflower seed butter, or other nut/seed butters to change up the flavors. Author: Abel James Serves: 12   Ingredients <ul> <li>9-ounces dark chocolate chips (or milk or white chocolate) TRB's notes: the higher quality the chocolate, the better it will taste!</li> <li>1 teaspoon coconut oil (or grass-fed butter)</li> <li>1 cup peanut butter, no sugar added (or almond butter or other nut/seed butter) TRB's notes: Again, the better quality the peanut butter, the better! :)</li> <li>2 tablespoons coconut palm sugar</li> <li>dash of stevia, to taste (TRB does NOT use this, but feel free if you want. They're plenty sweet with the chocolate)</li> <li>dash of sea salt</li> <li>12 paper muffin cups (cut down to about 1” high)</li> <li>Optional toppings: Nuts, berries, sea salt, coconut flakes</li> </ul>   Instructions <ol> <li>Cut 12 paper muffin cups down to about 1” high, and place in a muffin tin. Set aside.</li> <li>In a small pot or double-boiler set over lowest heat, melt the chocolate with the coconut oil, stirring regularly, until just completely melted. Set aside to slightly cool.</li> <li>In a mixing bowl, stir together peanut butter with coconut palm sugar, stevia, and sea salt. Taste and add a dash more coconut palm sugar, stevia and/or salt, to taste.</li> <li>Form the peanut butter dough into 12 small patties.</li> <li>Pour about a teaspoon of chocolate mixture into the bottom of each muffin cup.</li> <li>Place one peanut butter patty onto each dollop of chocolate.</li> <li>Cover each patty with remaining chocolate.</li> <li>If adding toppings, go ahead and lightly press them into the tops of the peanut butter cups.</li> <li>Freeze for 30 minutes or refrigerate one hour to set. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator, and enjoy straight from the fridge.</li> </ol>   Notes Alternately, you can use a mini muffin tin to make “bite-sized” candies for a small taste of something delicious and sweet. The recipe should make about 24 minis. We crush a lot of topics this week with the help of crowd favorites Lord Thunder and Mr. What! From Tesla to Subnautica to marriage advice, nothing is out of scope for what we like to talk about. And yes, you'll learn just why our biceps are bulging with power. There's also a special appearance from a very special person in Brian's life.... In This Episode  Whatchoo drinkin'? Here's Lord Thunder, once confused about what this newfangled device is... used to speak to others across time and space. No, Mr. Thunder, that is not what the microphone is for. Like Lord Thunder, I have a big voice-crush on Matt Bellamy of Muse. As if I need a real reason to think so, I find his style of songwriting to be extremely clever and unique, something that is impossible for another band to reproduce. If you're interested in songwriting, check out this video released by Holistic Songwriting earlier this year... he does a fantastic breakdown of Bellamy's style. I totally resonate with Lord Thunder... sometimes we'll hear a voice that just rings perfectly to us and it's hard to shake or really explain why we think so. Thunder does a very good job of it, and I would agree with him that it's a reason I love Muse, but I always feel that what makes use love a particular voice is more ethereal than we can put any explanation to... part of what makes music so genuinely incredible. 129: My Biceps are Always Bulging With Power | Lord Thunder and Mr. What

There is an art to dentisting, did you know? Well, now you will! A special welcome to Dr. RobDog, long time friend first time host. We're going to hear some awesome stories about going to the dentist, tips for keeping those chompers in decent shape, and of course... venturing deep into the nerd world with some chatter about Ant-Man and the Wasp and gaming. In This Episode  Welcome Dr. RobDog! A Brief History of Friendship Dentisting Stories from the field No Man's Sky... redeemed?  Dentisting It's quite a coincidence that Dr. RobDog is this week's guest host. I was recently informed that my dentist of 31 years (aka my whole life) has just retired and now... I need to find a new dentist. My dentist was also the dentist for most of my family... everyone who lives relatively near Minneapolis anyway. He sold his business to his daughter, who also consumed his clientele. My problem is, I was really only going because I've always gone to that dentist, but it's not very convenient for where I live. Going to the dentist is really the only semi-regular doctor trip I do. I recently went for the first time in 3 years, had a minor cavity to fill and otherwise nothing outstanding. Like Brian, I was brought up being taught to brush and floss regularly. The time when my teeth were the worst was the spring after I graduated from college (I graduated in the winter semester), because I spent my final months of college living off of Sour Patch Kids and Mountain Dew. I'd like to say it was worth it, but yeah, I had something like 6 cavities filled over the course of 2-3 trips. Like most professions, it takes a special breed of humanity to be a dentist. Not many of us would say we'd like to peer into open mouths every day or deal with people who have those deep, gutteral fears of getting their gums prodded. But teeth are fascinating, aren't they? Sometimes the only time I realize my teeth are there is when I accidentally bite my tongue or my lip (to which I subsequently envision my teeth more like fangs and convince myself I'm transitioning to a vampire state). But when someone sets a nice, juicy steak down in front of me, I couldn't be more pleased that my teeth are there. Here are some fun facts about teeth that I found spread across the internet. Feel free to bring them up at your Fall Mixers:  Teeth enamel is the strongest substance in the human body. Twigs were the original toothbrush! Crocodiles have their teeth cleaned by crocodile birds. No joke. Snails can grow over 25K teeth. Cotton Candy was created by a dentist (dude name William Morrison) and was at that time called "Fairy Floss"  The more you know! 207: Flaming Monkeys and Taiwanese Fricken Chickens | Lord Thunder is BACK!

Welcome back to The Real Brian Show! We've got a great line-up for you in this episode as we talk about racism, and its more general ancestor - bullying. Racism is just one of the hot-button social issues that plagues our society. The cause and effects are deeply rooted into our society, but that doesn't make them untouchable. In fact, it makes them even more tangible. In This Episode  Welcome to CJ Thunder (aka Carl)! Super secret hot cocoa recipe... Racism: what are it's roots? Experiences with bullying. How do we fight bullying? Chewbacca joins the conversation More from Lee Stephen, including comments on adversity, advice for aspiring writers, and some big truth bombs.  Bullying The famous quote from Eleanor Roosevelt oft comes to mind when talking about adversity and bullying: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Also the old adage: "sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me." Quotes and sayings, like these ones, might encourage us to take the power away from a bully, but they do little to acknowledge the fact that bullying does hurt. Brian and Carl face the issue of racism with compassion. Words matter because we wield them in very specific ways in order to illicit a range of emotions from other people. We use them to manipulate, to incite fear, to wound. We use them to make someone fall in love with us, to tell someone how much we care, or to communicate difficult news in a delicate way. The conversation in this podcast addresses the fact that the people wielding words for evil purposes may, in fact, be hurting themselves. Instead of fighting fire with fire, fight back with an attitude of how you wish the other person had treated you. Adversity We face adversity when bullied. Whatever brand of bullying you've received, whether it is racism, like Carl, or discrimination, like Brian, that period of suffering is actually called adversity. My dad always used to say that our character is revealed the most when we are under adversity, because it's only when we're under pressure that we're truly challenged with wielding the tools most intrinsically important to human life. I've been learning a lot about compassion in the last couple months, learning how to see suffering in others and find the patience to listen and hear the struggle they face. But compassion is about so much more than acknowledgement and patience, it's about the endurance of those qualities. Compassion feels to me to be the intrinsic opposite of bullying and, as such, the greatest weapon that can be wielded. If adversity comes from times of struggle, and let's specifically target bullying since that is the topic of discussion here, the opposing force of struggle is peace or surrender. Carl made a great point about hitting a bully with kindness, in that showing a bully that you are unperturbed by their attack makes them more likely to back down. Retaliating with hurtful words or a punch to the face reinforces the attack from the bully, inciting the very response they want. They want to cause pain, because seeing others in pain is the fastest way to feel less of one's own. One of the earliest televised advertisements appeared in 1966, the tagline for the product being "beauty of waxing with none of the work". The purpose of it is to dust and clean furniture, and really not much about that has changed in the last 60 years. Unlike technology or fashion, the only things that have changed about cleaning products from generation to generation are the active agents that make it do what it's designed for. (And branding, I suppose!) Products become safer, and with the internet we have a greater demand for transparency on what these products contain. For example, SC Johnson (the creator of Lemon Pledge) provides the full breakdown of all the ingredients in their products and an explanation of what those ingredients are and their acknowledgement of the effect it might have on people and the environment. Lemon Pledge is one of the more unique cleaning products, in my own personal opinion/experience... because it has such a distinctive smell that it's almost like you know how it tastes. So distinctive that people use phrases like, "Blech! Tastes like lemon pledge!" (even though eating, or inhaling, it would probably kill you - or maim you). So... like we said. Tottenham vs AC Milan I'm a pretty big soccer fan, in case there was any question. I had the awesome opportunity to go to the Tottenham/AC Milan match at U.S. Bank Stadium on Tuesday night. Minneapolis built U.S. Bank Stadium for the Minnesota Vikings, but in its two years of existence I've actually only ever attended soccer games at this stadium! It's an incredible venue and runs so much more efficiently than the Metrodome ever did. Here's a couple pictures from the night. I immediately jumped on the best seats I could find... we were behind one of the goals, off to the side. The one goal that was scored in the game was scored right in front of us.
