Transport policy and its influence on the city of tomorrow

Michel Parent is currently the program manager at INRIA (National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control) of the R&amp;D team on advanced Road transport (IMARA research group).This group focuses on research and development of information and communication technologies for road transport and in particular on fully automated vehicles (the cybercars). He was co-director of the 2007 study that designed California's landmark low carbon fuel standard and co-director of a follow-up 2012 national study. In 2008 he was appointed the first chair of the "Future of Transportation" Council of the Davos World Economic Forum. Alongside authoring "Two Billion Cars", he was a lead author of the transportation chapter on the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with former Vice President Al Gore.
