I think four protagonists in a polycule is just too many to give each character and relationship the depth it requires to be compelling. Meg argued this book is a point of transition for the series, which is fair. However, it seems to be transitioning into more "weird politicking" and less "hot avatars of Greek Gods getting it on" so do with that what you will.

Laine and Meg kick off Holiday Novella season with this entry from Courtney Milan. Milan managed to include a lot of detail and characters in a way that totally works. The themes are a bit darker than we're used to for the holidays, but the love story is as sweet as you expect.

This heroine is a working courtesan and the hero is the stereotypical second son meant for the clergy. The set up and the twist were both extremely unique. Meg took a while to read this one but ultimately enjoyed it. Laine was mostly frustrated that the characters weren't smarter.

After listening to the review of Mr. Impossible, I purchased it from kindle to read (sadly it was not available through my rural library.)I loved the humor and banter in the novel and enjoyed it so much I am bingeing on the remaining Carsington series!  I am heading to the beach next week and will use Plot Trysts as a resource to find FUN beach reads.
Meg and Laine obviously have fun producing this entertaining blog. My only suggestion is to slow down when reading their “random number” synopses, it is sometimes hard to catch the whole phrase or sentence.
