Keeping your home tidy feels like a huge job when the rest of your family messes it up again right after you’ve tidied it! Yes, we should be encouraging our partner and children to tidy up after themselves. But the reality is, they don’t. This leaves you with 2 choices:  Live in the mess (goodby tidy haven to relax in) Tidy it yourself (more work for you)  I prefer to relax in a tidy haven, but I don’t want to spend much time tidying up, especially when it’s not my mess, so I have a few little hacks that make the tidying quicker and easier. Easy habits for a neat & tidy home

If life is feeling a bit chaotic and overwhelming trying to manage your household (along with everything else at work and in life), that’s a sign that it’s time to start delegating. One easy task to delegate is to have the kids tidy their own room. I know, it feels quicker and easier to just do it yourself but I promise, once this becomes a habit and they get the hang of it, it really helps reduce your workload. Not only do you not have to tidy it yourself anymore, but other tasks like changing bedlinen, decluttering and deeper cleaning become much easier because you don’t have to wade through everything to do it. Kids like a tidy room too, they just feel overwhelmed when we ask them to do it because they don’t know where to start and they don’t have a step by step to follow. 5 Simple steps for kids to tidy their rooms

The washing pile looks more like a mountain when you’ve got young kids - and it can really add a lot of overwhelm to your week, especially if you need particular items on specific days or have a run of bad weather.  While it seems like a simple job at first glance, when you consider every step of the task - sorting, treating stains, washing, drying, folding and putting away its actually 6 jobs in one. 5 Things you don’t have to do as a parent (if you don’t want to)

When you’re a busy parent of young children, it can often feel like there's never enough time in the day to get everything done.   Between work, school runs, sports or other activities and everything else that comes with family life, it's easy to feel overwhelmed or like you're not making any progress, and when you start to feel that way, it’s really easy to slip into a state of procrastination, which then makes your to do list feel even more difficult. 5 Tips for easier kids' parties

We spend a lot of time in the car running the kids around and taking care of errands, and it doesn’t take long before your car can look a little “lived in” (aka messy) especially if your kids are young! How to simplify your life with young children

From taking care of the kids to managing the household, plus all the extra stuff we juggle (school, sport, health, social etc), we have a lot on our plates as parents! How to organise your kitchen so it’s easier to use it

I’m not a natural housework person.  I don’t love cleaning, and I got organised to make my life easier, not to have a Pinterest perfect home.  I like my housework to be simple and easy and if I come across a tool that helps me get things done more efficiently, I’m sticking with it, no matter how old school it feels.  My top tip for getting more done around the house is a vintage one - I like to wear an apron. My vintage tip for getting more done around the house efficiently

How To Declutter Your Kids Toys Before Christmas

I know a lot of us love the idea of living a simple life. I fell in love with the concept the minute I discovered it. To me simple living meant less to do, more time to enjoy life, less to worry about.. It was about letting go of being 'busy' and enjoying a slower pace. It was a beautiful idea and I wanted it to become my new reality immediately. No more rushing and hurrying, no more barking at my children to get ready quickly, no more competing with others on 'who was the busiest'.  I couldn't wait to feel at ease, rested, relaxed and peaceful with my new lifestyle choice.. But I remember how stressful it was when I first started thinking about simplifying my life. The whole thing was too overwhelming. I had no idea where to start. I felt like I needed to simplify everything and I needed to simplify fast! This just made me feel more busy and stressed than ever - the opposite of what I was aiming for. I had to let go of the need to be perfect at it, and instead just simplify my approach to simplifying ;)  So I started with just one small step, one way to simplify, and once I got used to that change, I moved onto the next. Then the next, and the next - never moving on until the current step had become more of a habit. I still have a fair way to go, but life now is quieter, more peaceful. I'm slowly giving up the reward of doing 'busy' well.  Even my organising tasks are focused on freeing up my time rather than being able to squeeze more into my days. I love this change and the effect it has had on me as a mother and a person.
