2023 US Classic Preview

 The FIG has opened a pathway for Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete in 2024 and (potentially) qualify to the Paris Olympics. The Melanie Over America Tour

The Alabama legend has returned to the NCAA, this time as one of the few black head coaches in college gymnastics. The "tall" (actually just slightly above average at almost 5'8") Miles Greig won a bronze medal with the U.S. team at the 2001 World Championships and made vault finals. She won the Honda Award (college gymnast of the year) and was a 4x NCAA Champion. We discuss:  Why she idolized Elena Produnova. Which skills were hardest for her to learn. She used to be called "my mini-me" by Alicia Sacramone and then she became one of the most consistent gymnasts in the United States. THIS WEEK'S INTERVIEW We are honored and humbled to welcome back the legend herself,  Alicia Sacramone, to celebrate our 200th episode. She joined us for episode 43, the  first ever panel on  LGBT Issues in Gymnastics in 2013. Since then she's married her longtime boyfriend, started a few businesses, and began coaching and doing choreography. Alicia is expecting her first child this summer. This interview was released December 5th 2013. US national team member, Maggie Nichols, told USA Gymnastics about being abused by Nassar in  June 2015. As of this update in January of 2018, she is the first known person to tell USA Gymnastics.... Then Rachael Denhollander, became the first survivor to go public in the Indy Star with accusations against Nassar in September 2016. It turns out that former doctor, Nassar had been abusing girls and women all the way back to the 1990s. And theses brave women, girls had been telling authorities all along, but they weren't believed. Larry Nassar is now a convicted pedophile and child pornographer who will spend the rest of his life in jail. This episode makes us feel guilty, sick and embarrassed but we will never take it down. Why? Because it may be one of the few interviews of it's kind, one with a serial child molester before he was caught.
