What if, when stocks move in the same direction for multiple days, we sold an option that bet on stocks reversing?

tastytrade's Research Department was curious to see how this tactic would perform.

* If the stock traded multiple days in a row lower, we sold a 30 delta [Naked Put](https://www.tastytrade.com/tt/learn/naked-options)

* If the stock traded multiple days in a row higher, we sold a 30 [delta](https://www.tastytrade.com/tt/learn/delta)
 Naked Call

Ultimately, our team found that selling puts after down days **does** perform better the more down days there are. However, the same mentality does not hold up with calls. After consecutive up days, selling calls did not increase profitability.
