Dr. Thabane is a Professor and the Associate Chair of McMaster University’s Department in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. He is also the Director of the Biostatistics Unit at the Centre for Evaluation of Medicine, the System-Linked Research Unit. In addition, he serves as a Senior Scientist at the Population Health Research Institute of Hamilton Health Sciences &amp; McMaster University.

Before coming to Queen's, Sarah completed her undergraduate degree in Human Nutrition, majoring in Dietetics at McGill University. Throughout her studies at McGill, Sarah completed 4 internships in various clinical, food service and community settings. Karen started at U of Toronto in Health Studies and Human Biology, going on to an M.Sc  in Epidemiology from Queen’s University.  She worked with Dr. Kathleen O’Connor and Heather Stuart to look at the relationship between breastfeeding duration and self-efficacy. Currently, Karen is at the Canadian Institute for Health Information as a Research Analyst, and is currently contributing to the 2012 flagship report, Health Care in Canada: A Focus on Wait Times.
