So this has sparked a discussion, is it OK to earse parts of the past you now find offensive? James Bond is a prime candidate I have been watching a lot of the old Rodger Moore ear James Bond and there is a lot there that is very hard to watch now. So should those parts be cut out or are they a look into the views of the time? Woddy Allan and Roman Polanski Two highly controveral figures who no matter what you think of them in real life have made ground breaking and important films. Should those films be scrubbed from history because the people who made them are problematic?

It turned out the WeVibe which is controlled by a mobile phone app actually logs all sorts of information about the user every time it is used. Including when it was used, settings, and even temperature. There was no mention of this on their website of in their terms an conditions. So it has ended up in court and they have lost badly. As part of that the COO has stepped down saying "It is now clear, however, that the beliefs and approach to leadership that have guided my career are inconsistent with what I saw and experienced at Uber". What I found out along the way, as I began to explore the world of Dominance and submission more, was that there was another part of me. A part I was afraid to name. I’m not just a submissive, I’m also a babygirl. Babygirls, and their babyboy counterparts, fall within the little spectrum of what we most commonly call the Daddy Dom/little girl (DD/lg) dynamic. Just because we call it DD/lg doesn’t mean that’s the best name, though. DD/lg can make others who aren’t Daddies or little girls feel excluded which is sad because like any other kind of kink, everyone who wants to experience it, should. Figuring out my babygirl side and admitting it were difficult processes. I couldn’t admit it to myself at first, and then confessing to my partner, John Brownstone, made my stomach hurt. The reason? I believed a lot of myths about DD/lg, and I wasn’t comfortable with what I thought that said about me. For anyone else who believes they know what DD/lg is all about, it’s time to bust a few myths. You Must Have Daddy Issues “Ugh! She called him ‘Daddy.’ Bet she’s got Daddy issues.” Actually, no. Kinksters come from every walk of life so yes, some of us probably do have emotional issues we need to work out about our parents. Being into DD/lg isn’t about solving underlying neuroses we’ve suffered from childhood thanks to our father. Actually, in some ways, it takes the best part of a parental figure - nurturance, guidance, and protectiveness - and wraps it up into a partner that, for many of us, in no way reminds us of our father. If we all have Daddy issues, how do you account for all the Mommies in the dynamic? Does that mean those people have Mommy issues? Well, I guess if you’re already judging the Daddies, you might think so. Take it from someone who has a relatively positive relationship with her family, no, being into the DD/lg or any other variation isn’t a substitute for the therapy I need to deal with my childhood. You’re Into Age Play Age play, defined as a type of role play where one partner assumes the characteristics of a child while the other is their caregiver, is a legitimate fetish and kink. It might include diapers, pacifiers, bottles, toys, and other items associated with children. For a time, the “young child” gives up all control and power to their parental figure who assumes all responsibility for them as you would any child. Yes, it can be a part of a DD/lg dynamic. No, it doesn’t mean the people involved are pedophiles. More importantly, it’s not some required within the DD/lg dynamic. Like every other kink, some people like it, and others don’t. Many of us who identify as a “little” think of it in a much more abstract way. We still have some autonomy even when we’re expressing our younger side. We’re not all into age play. DD/lg Isn’t a Real D/s Relationship From the outside looking in, DD/lg relationships look fairly relaxed. The Dominant partner tends to be indulgent and gentle. The submissive partner may be giggly or even bratty. There’s often a lot of teasing, whining, begging, and otherwise being “little” for the submissive. We do this for a million and one reasons but primarily so that our Dominant will be the caregiver we need in the moment. And for the record, my Daddy Dom can be extremely stern if I really screw up, so don’t think you know about my dynamic when you see the indulgent version first. For some kinksters who prefer a heavy dose of discipline, protocol, and decorum with their D/s, DD/lg doesn’t look like a power exchange relationship to them. Well, it absolutely is. It may be a gentler exchange, one where comfort and kindness take precedence over discipline and protocol, but the Dominant is definitely in control, and the submissive consents to it. Don’t yuck on my kink just because I do it differently. DD/lg is Always Heteronormative DD/lg or Daddy Dom/little girl is the most common name we give the dynamic but that doesn’t mean it has to be heteronormative. Although, yes, I admit that it’s depicted in a much more cis, straight, and white way, and we as a community need to work on that. A more inclusive reference to the overall dynamic is Caregiver/little which doesn’t imply a specific type of Dominant either. Female-identifying Dominants might use Mommy or Daddy. Not all Daddies want to be called “Daddy.” Both Caregivers and littles come from every aspect of the gender and sexual spectrum. DD/lg or C/l (while unfamiliar to most is probably better) are no different than other D/s dynamics in that what matters most are that the people involved enjoy the power exchange and find what works for them. Names, titles, gender, and sexual preference are unique to the people involved. You Have to be a Certain Age Kinksters really can’t win, can we? Either we’re all trying to be children (we’re not) or we’re either too young or too old for it. The assumption, in which our biases show up very clearly, is that in a DD/lg relationship, the Daddy will be older and the little will be younger. But no one is allowed to be too young or too old. Insert eyeroll here. Older couples, Doms who are younger than their subs, and younger people (as long as you’re of legal age) have every right to express their power exchange, relationship style, and kink in whatever way suits them. Yes, you can be in your 60s and consider yourself a little boy or girl, and a Dominant partner can definitely be younger than their submissive. The only time age matters is in determining if your partner is legal or not. Everything in BDSM, kink, and D/s exists on a spectrum. There is no one single right way to have a power exchange relationship with someone else. All that ever matters is that you have the consent of your partner, you understand the risks, and you communicate - a lot. After that, call yourself Daddy, Mommy, or All Mighty Leader of the Kink World if that gets you and your partner off. The Caregiver/little dynamic can be whatever the people involved want it to be. You don’t have to like it to accept it, and you don’t have to want it for yourself for it to be okay for other kinksters. For those who really want the nurturing, gentle, kind D/s relationship that DD/lg represents, don’t reject it because of false myths you believe. This week there is still technical issued going on but we did at least get the episode out. Political Warning We do get a little ranty on politics this week. Not a huge surprise considering the attacks and the general election we have just had. If that isn't your thing then I'm sorry about that but we just can't seem to let it go. While I don't know how biased the author is he does go into a lot of detail on what has happened in British Politics and how one group of people have been specifically attacked for no reason other than being poor. It's a tough read in places but worthwhile. Book Recommendation <a href="https://www.amazon.co.uk/Chavs-Demonization-Working-Owen-Jones/dp/1784783773/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1497606104&amp;sr=8-1&amp;keywords=chav" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> Chav: The demonization of the working</a> class by Owen Jones. While I don't know how biased the author is he does go into a lot of detail on what has happened in British Politics and how one group of people have been specifically attacked for no reason other than being poor. It's a tough read in places but worthwhile. Rope Bondage Last weeks article was written by Emmeline Peaches on how for some Rope Bondage is a form of meditation and can help them release their anxieties. It isn't going to work for everyone but for some it is just perfect. Bi-Erasure This week ACoupleOfKinks are talking about how she came out to her partner and what being "bi" meant to her. How she struggled to even realise that is what she was and by reading other peoples accounts she was able to process her own feelings and understand who she was. It is a great read so do check it out on the site.

Why you need kinky friends

This week we are talking about the our article called "What is Feminism?". Where Girl on the Net walks us through her thoughts on Feminism, what it means to her, and why if you stand up for equality between the sexes you are a feminist. This is one of those articles where Andrew wasn't sure if it should be written for us where as Pixie was really interested in Girl on the Nets thoughts. It's not about being a man hater This is of course how it is sometimes portrayed on TV, that is what gets ratings and makes for good TV. But that really isn't what it is about and isn't the part you should to focus on. In many ways we have both been very lucky in that we have both been brought up to believe than men and women can do anything they like. There are no limits on where they can work or what they can do. Even coming from IT backgrounds (which are very male dominated) isn't as chauvinistic as it might appear. Is "Feminism" a problematic term This is a discussion we have had on twitter this week since the article came out. While we can see why some people have a problem with the term there is a really good reason why the term "feminism" is important. When you are in a privilaged position it can be hard to see why other people feel oppressed and hurt by society at large. It is why you must be sensitive to why they want to use that term. Patriarchal society Something we don't see is how even our language reinforces the stero types and maintains that male dominance. When a man sleeps around he is a "real man", when a women does it she is a "slut". When someone is strong they are manly, when they cry they are a sissy or acting like a girl. Whether you mean it or not women are portrayed as weak and needing help, even by the language we use. These are not always conscious decision. The aftershow As we were wrapping up we started talking about the news and how in France women and being told what they can and can't wear on the beach. Something we just can't understand in a country that values personal liberty.

How it is possible for the refurbished tower block can go up in flames like it did with so many lives lost is totally beyond us, and shouldn't have happened. Our thoughts go out to all the families affected.  Amazon doesn't want you looking up the price of books on Amazon [12:08] Amazon has filed for a patent that would allow it to block access to its own website if you are using the Wifi in one of their shop locations. They don't want you finding the book cheaper online so they will block access or adjust the prices of books to make the shop seem more competative.  Find out more  Police working hard to stop video going into the public domain [15:47] States in the USA are working hard to make sure video from police body cameras are kept out of the public domain. In a blow for open and transparent policing in the US some starts are working to make sure only the video they want to release is shown to the public. This is a worrying trend. What is Erotic Fan Fiction, put simply it is witting your own story based on the characters or setting of someone has created. This is based on our article by Victoria Blisse. Is it legal? Is it legal to create your own fan fiction? Turns out that is a tricky question. You need to understand copyright and how it is applied in your country. Copyright in the UK Since 1995 Copyright is granted on all creative works up to 70 years after the authors death. At which point it becomes public domain. Before 1956 most content isn't copyrighted at all, but make sure you read the law before you do anything with them. This weekend we are at Sexhibition in Manchester, if you are going to be there make sure you say hi. DIY Porn Porn has changed, thanks to the Internet not only is it easy to get but it is also now very easy to make. We all have cameras in our pockets that can shoot high quality video and even upload it directly to the Internet if you need to. With people like the amazing Pandora Blake making their own incredibly successful porn sites like Dreams of Spanking, the field has really opened up to just about anyone who wants to make porn. If you are going to make your own porn make sure you are prepared for people you know, will see it, and know what you are doing. You shouldn't be asshamed of it. Cinema bans single men from screenings of new 50 shades darker film A cinema in Ireland has banned single men from seeing the new "50 shades darker" film on their own. It seems the owner of cinema is terrified of women become too caught up in this raunchy film and won't be able to control themselves. "The film is basically porn for women, going on what the distributors are describing to us." Anal rape of suspect with policeman truncheon was an accident  Police in France have claimed that an officer anally raped a 22-year-old black man with a truncheon by mistake. This happened recently in France and has caused a massive outcry. The abuse of black men by police in the country has been appalling. With feelings over the mess reaching fever pitch. The youth worker suffered such severe injuries to his rectum during an arrest last week in Aulnay-sous-Bois, north of Paris, that he needed major emergency surgery and remains in hospital. But when an internal investigation has concluded with a finding of "insufficient evidence" that the man was raped. To his credit the magistrate over looking this was not happy and has charged one of the police officers with rape and is still investigating the case. FetLife forced to censor hundreds of groups FetLife was forced to take action after one of the large card companies asked for its card processing accounts to be closed. Their only available response was to get rid of any and all questionably content. Anal rape of suspect with policeman truncheon was an accident Police in France have claimed that an officer anally raped a 22-year-old black man with a truncheon by mistake. This happened recently in France and has caused a massive outcry. The abuse of black men by police in the country has been appalling. With feelings over the mess reaching fever pitch. The youth worker suffered such severe injuries to his rectum during an arrest last week in Aulnay-sous-Bois, north of Paris, that he needed major emergency surgery and remains in hospital. But when an internal investigation has concluded with a finding of "insufficient evidence" that the man was raped. To his credit the magistrate over looking this was not happy and has charged one of the police officers with rape and is still investigating the case. Three other officers have been charged with assault and all four have been suspended. FetLife forced to censor hundreds of groups FetLife was forced to take action after one of the large card companies asked for its card processing accounts to be closed. Their only available response was to get rid of any and all questionably content. It is worrying when a card issuer can force a site to close and give no reason for their decision with no way to appeal the decision. It is a great example of Whorephobia. The hatred of a sex worker for no reason other than that they are a sex worker.
