On June 26, 2010, a woman named Larene Austin rushes into the Palmdale Sheriff's Office to let them know that she had found her best friend, LaNell Barsock, murdered. The "Osage Murders" were a series of murders of Osage people in Oklahoma that occurred in the early 1920's. Their land was producing vasts amounts of valuable oil and the 'white folks' wanted in on the money that the Osage were receiving... and they would stop at nothing to get that money, even if it meant committing murder. On January 14, 2003, Zankou Chicken owner Mardiros Iskenderian told his wife he was going to meet a friend at the restaurant. But actually, he went to his sister's house instead. He had planned a meeting with her and his mother to discuss "family matters." After the meeting went from talking to yelling, Mardiros pulled out his gun, shot and killed his sister, Dzovig Marjik.
