He has written over 40 books on subjects ranging from health and stretching to he ephemeral charm of driftwood structures on the Pacific Coast. We talked about his work as a builder, and as an editor of the “Whole Earth Catalogue”, living healthy, and the life-force giving capacity of working with your hands. She is an accomplished solo female traveler, a mother of six, a grandmother of nine, she earned her masters in social work while raising a family, has been a pioneer in the field of hospice and palliative care since the 1980’s, and she has been a nurse for over 50 years.
