Jay gets the "Hard Luck" award by destroying something that took months to put together, lucky for him Steve and Keith the "Flight Doctors" from Hanger 18 were there to save the day! AK Mike and Jay get a chance to talk to "AMA Jay" the District 4, Vice President on his regions AMA events and successes like Holly Springs. After a long day of shenanigans we talk to Doug to see if he was able to get a dry shirt after hosting/running/MC'ing the days events.  Finally the boys get a chance to wrap up the days events and reflect on a perfect saturday afternoon....

We are always pleased when our listeners get in touch with us.  Philip Hinkle decided to give us a shout and let us know that he was in Phoenix and would love to fly with us. AZEF part 1 – Friday

Now that AK Mike lives in Texas he takes the opportunity to drive down and see Jay for the Holiday weekend.  AK Mike and Jay spend the week at the flying field with the guys from Jays flying group.  The guys recount the fun had by all and discuss some of the mishaps that happened along the way.  Jay and AK Mike fly the tuff wings and have a midair collision.  Jim over stresses his Zagi and breaks it in half.  Lots of fun flying and a few crashes has everyone telling stories.

Happy 4th of July from Texas

I know we have talked about this on several podcasts before, but Jay finally gets to talk about his new ASW28 Glider he received from Bangood Hobbies.  They recently had a sale and being a good plane broker he sent us all a message with coupons to get the glider on sale.  Jay received his within 3 days of order and got busy building and modifying the plane to suit his needs.  Join the guys as they discuss the mods Jay was able to make and what he thinks of the new addition to his fleet.

ASW28 – Jays New Glider

Michael and Jay talk about trying to fly the Comanchee.  It helps to bring the right battery connectors.  Flying the comanchee off grass is a bit of a new experience.  However the flight did not go as planned and wound up in a fatal crash for this airframe.  The guys discuss what might have caused this mishap.  Then off to the Hanger 9 P-51 to discuss the weight issue that Jay has tackled with buckshot. The aircraft was built for a glow but Jay has converted it to electric and needs more nose wight.  Lucky he has some buckshot laying around to use as weights.  Jay talks about the neat idea to make moulds with shot and epoxy.  Check out our new facebook page at @parkflyerstaff and post your comments and photos.

My P-51 has Shot

Well day two of our event brings Scott Todd to the show. Scott is a rocket scientist who has some amazing talent taking old Kraft radios and restoring them with all new electronics and making them work with the new modern 2.7ghz receivers.  Jay gets in inside look at the radio and we discuss the idea behind taking the old and making it new.   Bryce Hatfield from Critical RC also joins us with his new line of FLEXCESSORIES.  Critical RC manufactures landing gear and wheels for the Flex Innovations line of aircraft.  Its always a good time when Bryce is on the field and you can expect nothing less than full throttle 3D flying and fantastic showmanship.  Doug joins us for the night fly and recounts his thoughts from the days events.  We appreciate Dougs visit to our neck of the woods and are excited to say that he had his first EDF flight and First Night flight with us! Thanks for the memories.
