Rick van Velthuysen is is al een leven lang radio-DJ. Zoals zovelen werd hij in zijn jonge jaren gegrepen door het medium radio en begon hij bij de lokale piraat. Daarna kwamen er vele omroepen voorbij; onder andere Veronica... de zender waarop hij nu vanaf maandagochtend 6 uur weer dagelijks te horen zal zijn. Het betekent dat hij niet meer te horen zal zijn in de nacht op NPO Radio 2. Behalve DJ is Rick raadslid in zijn woonplaats ‘T Harde en maakt hij een podcast met Marianne Zwagerman.Tim van Rijthoven won vorig jaar - tot grote verrassing van tennisminnend Nederland - als outsider het grastoernooi van Rosmalen en bereikte hij de achtste finales op Wimbledon. Het betekende voor hem persoonlijk een grote doorbraak; tot dan toe had hij jarenlang het gevoel gehad te falen en ervoer hij een verstikkende prestatiedrang. Maar lichamelijk zit het hem nog steeds niet mee, ook nu nog ervaart hij veel hinder van een rug en elleboog blessure. En toch houdt hij de moed erin.

In de rubriek 'Even bellen met' bellen we bekende tennissers om bij kort bij te praten over hun prestaties. Dit keer belde we met Tim van Rijthoven, die in het eerste kwartaal een reuzensprong op de wereldranglijst maakte. Inmiddels staat hij de nr. 3 van Nederland. Hoe wist hij deze progressie te boeken en welke doelstellingen heeft Tim nu gesteld?  Met een sprong van plaats 261 naar plaats 179 op de wereldranglijst trekt hij de aandacht. Gisterochtend versloeg hij landgenoot Gijs Brouwer.  We belden Tim van Rijthoven op om bij te praten.
