On June 8, 23andme announced it has been conducted research studies to determine if blood type is associated with lower risk of infections or symptoms. In a person’s DNA, a Thymine base on their ABO gene determines if that person has blood type O. Early results suggest Individuals with O blood type are between 9-18% percent less likely than individuals with other blood types to have tested positive for COVID-19.
