Commit2Fit Kewanee is back for a third year at the Kewanee YMCA. Commit2Fit is already underway but, the YMCA and OSF Saint Luke Medical Center have announced that they will keep registration for Commit2Fit open through February 8th at close of business at the Y. Weigh in at the YMCA during regular business hours and you will be part of Commit2Fit for the chance to win weekly prizes for completing healthy challenges and the chance to win a free year membership at the YMCA and a $300.00 grand prize.

The YMCA of Kewanee is open and despite the pandemic they are doing all the can to reach out to members and non-members alike. They are currently offering a training course they are calling COVID Clean-Up and it is aimed at those who have, during the pandemic, put on weight due to stress or from sheltering at home and not getting your usual work out. The Y is also working on behalf of kids in Junior High who have seen most of their school athletic competitions cancelled due to COVID. We talked with Jill Milroy about this stuff and COVID-19 precautions on Tuned In.

With COVID-19 closing the gyms at the YMCA you might think that the staff has slowed down with little to do. That's definitely not the case. Indeed, the YMCA of Kewanee has been as busy as ever at finding innovative ways to remain in contact and connected to the community. Jill Milroy from the YMCA of Kewanee joined WKEI on People to People to talk about their emergency child care services, being a meal site for Kewanee School kids, and the work that Wellness Director Laura Luciani and her team have been doing using social media, specifically the YMCA of Kewanee Facebook page.
