He continued teaching at UCLA till 2011 and received the Dickson Award for work as an emeritus 2007. In this episode of Terrorism 360°, Founding Director of START Dr. Gary LaFree interviews renowned terrorism researcher David Rapoport, the instructor behind the creation of the first terrorism studies class. Dr. Rapoport has received 12 Awards from a variety of Foundations including the Social Science Research Council, Ford Foundation, Fulbright, American Council of Learned Societies, National Institute of Mental Health and Harry Frank Guggenheim. He founded the Journal Terrorism and Political Violence in 1989 which he continues to edit to this day.
