This week on the podcast Haley and Alyssa are joined by two special guests, triathletes Alicia Allen and Lauren Dahlin. Triathlon is not the only thing the two have in common, they are also both Type 1 Diabetics. We hear from each of them about their diabetes diagnoses, how their lives have changed since then, and also how they manage their diabetes while training and racing. Both accomplished age group triathletes, Lauren and Alicia weigh in on how races, event organizers and race directors can improve their events to make them more accessible to those with Type 1 Diabetes. Although they only recently met, the two triathletes share a common goal of showing other women with Type 1 Diabetes what is possible for them.
