Chris Harriman played two seasons in the NBL, playing for both the Sydney Kings and the Hunter Pirates (runner-up in the 2004 rookie of the year award) before taking up an opportunity to coach college basketball. Since then, he's coached at some of the top college basketball programs, including Saint Louis, Nebraska, New Mexico and the University of Cal (Berkley), where he is an assistant coach to  Mark Fox. While few may be aware of who Harriman is, many are familiar with his work. During his almost 20 years coaching in the US, he's helped develop some of the NBL's best talent, including Kevin Lisch, Keanu Pinder, Brian Conklin, Tim Coenraad, Rob Loe and Jack McVeigh, amongst many others. Chris Harriman (California Golden Bears) advice on becoming a college coach or basketball player

Talking Grammer, Episode 5 features a conversation I had with UNM men's basketball associate head coach Chris Harriman last week. Chris and I talked about his time at UNM (this is his third season and he's the lone holdover from the Craig Neal era), his time working for Rick Majerus at Saint Louis and Tim Miles at Nebraska, his addiction to coffee and his 10-year-old son, Avery, giving him great perspective on life with an always-happy outlook while battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since the age of 2.

This week on the Northeast Newscast, Managing Editor Paul Thompson goes on a ride-along with KCMO Animal Control officer Chris Harriman.It bears mentioning that what many in Kansas City refer to as Animal Control is actually the Animal Health and Public Safety department.  Chris Harriman is technically an Animal Health and Public Safety officer, but even he will refer to himself as Animal Control for the sake of brevity and the understanding of the general public.At any rate, Harriman allows Thompson to join up for several hours as he answers service requests in the Historic Northeast community. The pair check in on a duplex that is allegedly home to 26 cats; checks in on a block full of stray dogs, and even chase a rabbit around until its owner mercifully arrives. To close the episode, Harriman offers some thoughts on the Animal Health and Public Safety audit that was recently completed by the KCMO Auditor's Office.
