It is a ‘May the Fourth Be With You’ Thursday edition of Glenn Clark Radio, Glenn and Griffin will break down last night's Orioles game even though they didn't give us much to really talk about… The guys will also be talking all about the Ravens latest signing, CB Rock Ya-Sin, we’ll discuss the impact that the former Temple DB and most recently Raiders CB will have on the Ravens defense. Plus it is “Prince” Charles’s last day of his internship so we'll get his last edition of ‘Fighting Words’ today as well. At 10:45am, we will chat with NBC Horse Racing analyst, Randy Moss, as we begin previewing this weekend’s Kentucky Derby and try to figure out where our horse racing wagers should be going. At 11am, we will make our weekly trip to Bowie when we chat with BaySox pitcher Cade Povich as he’s been off to a strong start in his first full season in the Orioles organization. At 11:20am, we’re going to preview the Junior College Lacrosse National Championship that is being hosted by Harford Community College with HCC Coach Aaron Verardi. At 11:35am, we will be chatting with former Maryland Terps Women’s Basketball Player and now Dallas Wing Abby Meyers to talk to her about getting drafted in the first round of the WNBA Draft a couple weeks ago. Coach Tom Eller is currently a hitting coach with the Baltimore Orioles organization. For 12 seasons Tom Eller was the Head Baseball Coach for the Harford Community College Fighting Owls in Bel Air, Maryland. Over his last 12 seasons at Harford Tom became the winningest coach in program history, with 433 wins. Coach Eller surpassed the 40-win mark in each of the last four seasons, with a 96-7-1 record in conference play during that time.Since taking over the program in 2007, the Fighting Owls under Coach Eller won five Region XX championships and four regular season Maryland Junior College Conference titles. In the 2016-2017 season, the Fighting Owls earned 54 wins, a season record for the program, and made the school's first appearance in the NJCAA World Series.Tom shares in this interview that his purpose was always to help players develop to their next level. During his tenure, Coach Eller helped eight players go from Junior College to Major League Baseball.In this interview Tom shares how he built a culture of success from the ground up, he did not inherit it. He shares how by building relationships with his players and other coaches in baseball, he himself has ascended from the Junior College ranks to the MLB. And he shares the power of a growth mindset for succeeding at any level.

5. Tom Eller: Baltimore Orioles Hitting Coach & winningest coach in program history at Harford CC

Baseball is easy – score more runs than your opponent and you win. But there is a recipe for building your offense and we connected with two coaches who have consistently placed their programs at the top of offensive columns: Matt Bragga, head coach at Tennessee Tech University and Tom Eller, head coach at Harford Community College. Both coaches are having tremendous seasons so far. Bragga’s offense is ranked first nationally in multiple categories including 11.5 runs per game. Eller’s leads the country with 194 stolen bases and also walks. Inside this show, we pull back the curtain on what truly goes on inside the cages and batting practice, the inner details of what’s being taught and the language that drives each unique culture. We also explore constructing a lineup, which is different for both coaches, plus the statistics that they pay attention to that provide the true glimpse into who is producing inside their offensive group. This is yet another ‘take feverish notes’ episode as both Bragga and Eller offer up drills, ideas, concepts and specific batting practice routines and competitive situational routines that should find their way into your practice plans.
