Amanda Jakubowski is an absolute Saint. Her story is one of tragedy and pain, yet due to her determination and love for others there comes joy, smiles, laughter, and kindness. Amanda was living her dream working in a hospital serving and blessing the lives of the less fortunate when she contracted a disease that attacked her vagus nerve. She became paralyzed, her intestines from her Esophagus through to her colon just stopped working. She tasted her last meal nearly 10 years ago and has had many surgeries due to complications with her feeding port. Through it all she's remain positive, loving, and caring. Roughly 7 years into her disease the strain on her relationship with her husband had finally reached the breaking point and they got divorced, however she still speaks of her ex-husband with great understanding, love and care, it is absolutely inspiring. Amanda has a purpose and mission to share with the world that happiness can be achieved through focusing on the positives and what remains rather than dwelling on what is lost but. It was an honor to interview her and assist her in sharing her story.
