As well as being one of the funniest and most charming people on Twitter, Rhodri is the keyboard player in Scritti Politti and a noted author and journalist. Rhodri shares his Phonographic Memories with us and picks some of the most surprising and interesting tunes yet. We also have a new feature called 'Around the World' in which we examine why certain types of music manage to blossom in the most unexpected of places. This week we consider Jazz in Japan with J-Jazz 3 curator Tony Higgins. Tony explains how a genre born in the ghetto's of the USA took root in the far east, it's a fascinating story revealing a rich seam of musical gold. Rhodri Marsden has his finger in many creative and media pies. A journalist for publications including The Independent, writer of talks and books, keyboardist in Scritti Politti and Dream Themes, musical saw player, and prolific and entertaining tweeter with a huge following, he's constantly generating new material and surrounded by creative people – but interestingly, doesn't classify himself as 'creative'.  Rhodri knew Chris Sievey the man behind Frank Sidebottom, and played in the band supporting Frank's act.
