See some of Ben’s top tips below:   Don’t blame challenges in a changing industry. If there are challenges then there will also be opportunities.   Do a proper business plan! It sounds obvious, but so many businesses fail because they don’t do this properly.   Don’t be scared to give away a share of your business to raise money. If the value of your shares is rising then there are more slices of the pie to go around.   Be up-front with your shareholders. Is it a yield investment or is it more about capital growth? What are the challenges you face and what are you doing about them?   Remember that shareholders can offer skills and insight. There is no shame in asking their advice. Engaged shareholders are happy shareholders.
