Cayla serves as the Assistant professor of Bassoon at Colorado State University, where she teaches graduate and undergraduate bassoon students, coaches chamber music, and conducts the contemporary music ensembles. Cayla is in demand nationally as a soloist and orchestral bassoonist, and keeps a full schedule of guest teaching and conducting as well. In our conversation, we discuss Cayla’s experiences with mindfulness in her training as a triathlete, and her preferred mindfulness practices in the moments before performance or in her short breaks during her busy schedule.
