Off the heels of his monumental Final Go-Go performance after 40 years in the the genre, Donnell Floyd, sat down with us to retrace all the steps. As a pioneer in a culture that has been the heartbeat of the DMV for decades , Donnell (@donnellfloyd) , recounted stories of his early beginnings starting at Duke Ellington entering Go-Go in its infancy, down to firing a young Sean Combs from a job as a backup dancer from his record label in the early 90s only to be reunited with the future mogul at Uptown Records as a music producer. We highlighted stories of DC in the cocaine 80s and historical nights like Go-Go Live at the now demolished US Air Arena In 1987. So many gems and so much game came from this one.
