Menaka Shroff, Head of Marketing at Betterworks, joins Andy over a margarita to talk about marketing technology, staying on message, her time at Box, and the importance of mentoring. "Account-based marketing might be the next big thing that may not be the next big thing""If your database is over 100,000, I would do Marketo audits every [six months to a year]""With messaging, sometimes it’s important to be patient with it…. companies and spokespeople get tired of the message long before the marketplace ever does.""The next generation needs to focus on what I called the MAD acronym: focus on Messaging, Analytics and Design."Menaka's DrinkMargarita (from Serious Eats)Lime wedge, plus 2 lime wheels for garnish1 tablespoon coarse salt, for glass rims4 ounces high quality blanco tequila (see note above)2 ounces Cointreau1 1/2 ounces fresh juice from 2 limesRun lime wedge around the outer rims of two rocks glasses and dip rims in salt. Set aside. In cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice. Fill with ice and shake until thoroughly chilled, about 15 seconds (the bottom of a metal shaker should frost over). Fill glasses with fresh ice and strain margarita into both glasses.
