Kent is a lifelong Chicagoan and attended Chicago Public Schools and the University of Chicago (Political Science). Currently, he manages member services and the operations of the Chicago Principals &amp; Administrators Association. He has attended Chinese Christian Union Church in Chicago's Chinatown neighborhood since childhood and now serves as in their youth ministries and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He also serves on the boards of the Pui Tak Center and the Pui Tak Christian School. As of 2018, he has completed 10 marathons.
