Meet Tracey, author of “Out of the Darkroom, Into the Light: A Story of Faith and Forgiveness after Child Abuse.” At a young age, she was a victim of abuse and grew up with an alcoholic parent. Tracey was ashamed of her family and experienced a lot of guilt and fear. She estranged herself from them and eventually started going to counseling. Through all of the struggles of her growing up years, Tracey says she hoped there was a God and that he would get her through it. The more she got to know about God, the more she experienced forgiveness, restored relationships, and found a community to help her parent and establish a family that did not reflect her own childhood. Today I’m talking to Tracey Casciano. Tracey is a wife, mom, church worker, author, and someone I know a great many of my listeners will be able to relate to. Her latest book, Out of The Darkroom, Into the Light, is a story of faith and forgiveness after child abuse. Although this is a difficult topic, I was so impressed by Tracey’s ability to work through her hurt and truly offer forgiveness to those who hurt her. Since we recorded this interview, Tracey’s book was nominated for the Christian Small Publisher book of the year award! Way to go Tracey! I can’t wait to share her story with you.
