For 22 years Claude Abrams worked on the weekly boxing magazine Boxing News, serving more than 10 years as editor.  He was hired by his predecessor Harry Mullan and then subsequently hired his successor, Tris Dixon.  In between, he covered huge fights, was at the small halls and was exposed to things only a BN editor is exposed to; from rowing with promoters, to going to Azumah Nelson's house, to sparring with Naseem Hamed and taking private jets with Emanuel Steward and then having dinner with Marvin Hagler and Tommy Hearns. He was also ringside for some of the best fighters of all time, including Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather, Evander Holyfield, Erik Morales, Marco Antonio Barrera and many more.  When he left BN, he went 'cold turkey' and travelled the world. But he dusted off plenty of war stories for this incredible journey down memory lane.

Season 2: #22 Claude Abrams

Loved having Claude on the show. Claude is a fitness and strength coach, originally from London but now based in Chichester, West Sussex, specialising in body transformations, powerlifting, boxing and natural movement. He wasn't always a coach though and spent over 23 years as a journalist in the world of boxing. Claude is a father of 2, aged 7 and 12 and at 51 years of age, is in amazing shape. He powers his body using a plant based diet, something I think about often but haven't yet managed to commit to fully. If you ask Claude, he'll tell you that "it’s never too late to begin", "everyone should be doing some form of resistance training", and "the greatest hindrances to gaining and retaining a healthy physical condition are lifestyle; impatience and excuses". Check him out here. Claude is a totally aswsome guy.  He is now a fitness instructor.  He started out life being totally into boxing.  He has been a boxer, promoted boxing with one of the biggest boxing promoters in this country, He was then a journalist writing about boxing.  He gave up his job as editor and chief of the magazine and went traveling around the world with his family.  His second child was born when they were traveling,  He speaks very touchenly about the birth of this children.  He spend 4.5 years living with them full time.  He has now seperated from his wife and he speaks freely about how he has come to peace with the ending of the marraige.  This being to the benifit of his children.  He works with a wide range of people.  He shared he joy in working with a lady in her 70s who has took up weight lifting a year ago.
