Contemporain de Beethoven puisqu'il est né la même année, Antoine Reicha (1770-1836) demeure méconnu, du moins dans ses compositions. Et pourtant, quelle verve et quelle originalité dans ses deux symphonies concertantes- l'une pour flûte et violon, l'autre pour deux violoncelles- qu'ont enregistrées Stephan McLeod et Gli Angeli Genève pour le label Claves. Stephan McLeod remet Antoine Reicha au goût du jour

Chandos, in association with RTS and Palazetto Bru Zane, has launched a new series exploring the keyboard music of Antoine Reicha, born the same year as Beethoven and a close friend of the German composer. It’s played by Ivan Ilić. He was in London recently and Gramophone’s Editor in Chief, James Jolly, went to talk to him about the project.
