Sly Dawg aka Steven Chew is a born and bread Surf Core human from Laguna Beach California. Sly is one of the coolest characters around and it was an honor to have him back on the Show. Growing up in Laguna Beach, Sly has always been a surf legend. Being sponsored at a young age and catching the surf bug when he was young allowed him to travel the world and go to secluded surf spots. This was way before the Internet and all we had was a few photos and epic tales of Surf Safari Adventure to be shared by firelight. Sly had been a nomadic Surf gypsy for decades now...Bringing to fruition the article written about him and his friend "Frogger" called "The Dharma Bums" by Surfer Magazine editor and Laguna Beach local Chris Mauro. In this article Mauro paints a picture of Sly and Froggers life as elite boat captains of then private and very secret island called Tavarua, off the coast of Fiji.  Sly has lived a life of Surf, Travel and adventure. But through all of it he has still maintained the lovable, super sonic, wacky, unique surfy style that we all love about him. Sly is always involved with the community....weather he's planning a surf contest with the local Surf Shop (LS&amp;S) or running his fabulous Wacky insanely popular Surf Camps....Sly keeps it light and fun. I checked in with Sly in the beginning of the Pandemic to see how he was adjusting...we had a great conversation...but I somehow erased it. (it was bound to happen). :-( So we decide to do it again... and everything worked out. Times are crazy and all these beach closures are starting to take a toll. I checked in with Sly to see how his Quarantine was going...plus he had just moved into a beautiful new treehouse tucked back into the hill of Bluebird Canyon. Todays guest is my friend Steven Chew, AKA "Sly Dawg" We take the small trip north to the beautiful sea coves of  Laguna Beach California. Sly has been involved in the surf scene for a while. He's a world traveler, a Tavarua boat captain, a Artist, a philosopher of fun and an  all-time Legend of a character!
