You might have noticed that for the last several weeks, our focus on the Kdhx podcast Tangazo, has been on the November 8th midterm elections.   I believe these upcoming midterm elections, to be the most critical elections, in my lifetime!   The phrase “lying politicians,” doesn’t apply here to Republican candidates, who are for the most part telling the nation upfront, just who they are and the real danger they will pose to our American democracy.   A wise person once said, “When people show you who they are, you should believe them.”  Tim Person, the host for this episode of the KDHX podcast Tangazo, also believes that American democracy is threatened, by right-wing MEGA candidates. University of Alabama at Birmingham, social justice activist Reverend Stephanie Wilkens, of Houston Texas and activist Alicia Smith, of Minneapolis Minnesota, were my guest for a riveting 45 minute discussion, that included the attempts to suppress voting rights for people of color.    Dr. Briggs, is the daughter of former St. Louis Attorney, Forriss Elliott Sr. and the late Sylvia Elliott and I have known her since her childhood. She along with Reverend Stephanie Wilkens, fresh from a Poor people’s protest march, on the Texas state capital in Austin and George Floyd activist, Alicia Smith. All agreed that given what black folks, have already endured in this country, we will overcome all of the racist motivated laws and efforts designed to demoralize and control people of color, in this country!
