Dr. Karl-Dimiter Bissig, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine. Better known as "Dimi," his lab focuses on all things surrounding liver research. From liver cancer to viral hepatitis to metabolic liver disorders, he is passionate about discovery and keeping a mindset of "bench to bedside."We discuss his early childhood beginnings. As the self-proclaimed "black sheep" of his family, he left his home country, Switzerland, to pursue his career in science.
