Imagine you just won a beauty contest, or best salesman of the year, or some title in sports, and before you could put your crown or trophy on the mantelpiece, you receive a letter saying, “It has been brought to (our) attention that your social media accounts contain offensive, insensitive and inappropriate content…. Effective immediately (we) do not recognize you as a participant (no less the winner)…. Remove any mention of yourself as a participant…. from all social media platforms-including photographs of you wearing the sash and/or crown (or trophy).”That’s what happened to Kathy Zhu.
