He has won two Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America awards for bluegrass group of the year, been nominated twice for a Grammy for Bluegrass Album of the year and recorded on the #1 song “Lonesome Weary Heart” with Audie Blaylock which spent six weeks on the bluegrass charts.  We sat down over breakfast in Little Rock in Brodick and had a chat about his career and his instruments.
