Welcome to the Culture &amp; Cannabis podcast!  The goal of this podcast is to show off the mover, shakers and money makers in the cannabis industry and the cannabis culture.   Evan Marder (@evan.matrix.mmj) is from the Philadelphia area. Born in Pennsylvania and grew up in Delaware. He has been very passionate about cannabis since 1986 and has been growing since that time. He was in the restaurant/hospitality industry since that time as well and worked for a company called Kahunaville from 1994 - 2015. He started as a doorman and worked his way up to Director of Operations. In 2001 we opened a restaurant in Treasure Island and moved out here to be a bartender. He figured he do that for 5 years and then get back into management. Instead he did it for 14 years. In 2014 he decided to try to start a cannabis company and put together a business plan and proforma and started shopping for investors and making all the moves necessary to apply to the state, which included having a building to grow in, proof of funds, etc.. He was able to get the owner of the restaurant chain he worked for to partner with him on my idea in June 2014, and from there did all of the work necessary to get the necessary approvals from the state and city. He designed and oversaw all construction of the project and then became Chief Operating Officer of the company (Matrix NV). He was COO of Matrix up until this past June. Since that time he started my own cannabis consulting company and am working on that now. As far as Matrix, he basically did everything. He is a grower and an enthusiastic advocate for cannabis and the industry first and foremost, That's what I care about most. He is unique in that he has a very deep understanding of every aspect of the cultivation and production side of the business.  The two host are Anthony M. Lee (@fulltimetony) and JC Coats (@_jc_coats).  JC Coats is a Las Vegas native who is an overall marketer and event planner.  His resume is very long but he most notably started Culture &amp; Cannabis event, which is one of the biggest monthly cannabis in the country.  JC also does a ton of marketing consulting for cannabis companies, restaurants, nightclubs and a lot more.  Tony is from Las Vegas but currently lives in Reno, Nevada.  Tony is the founder of Reno As F***, Reno Cannabis Convention and Budtender Fight Club Reno.  Tony also does marketing and sales consulting for cannabis companies such as Harmonious CBD.
