Hey guys! Chris and Melissa here, one of our family values is “Smiths are adventurous” and it’s something that even our youngest has taken to heart. But it begs the question, what can we as parents do to foster that curiosity to explore the world? In today’s episode, we talk with some amazing entrepreneurs and parents, Joey and Berit Coleman. We were so excited to talk with them because they have some great insight into how you can raise your kids to be inquisitive of the world around them. They talk about the pillar of learning within their family and how it has helped not only their children but everyone grows.  Join us as we discuss the upsides and downsides of technology, why we prefer real books over electronic ones, and how we’ve managed to instill a love of reading into our kids. As the saying goes “leaders are readers” and one of the best things you can do is to surround your kids with books. 48. Unlocking The Curiosity and Adventure In Your Family with Joey and Berit Coleman

If you’re a multi-passionate person looking to step into a new project, a new role, a new relationship or a new business venture, you’ll love this episode with my good friend, Berit Coleman. In this episode, Berit and I discuss evolving identity, intentional parenting, deep relationships, business pivots and more. Berit co-founded a web development firm in the late 1990’s, and shortly after co-founded Affinity Lab, the first and longest operating co-working space in the world. After selling the business in late 2015, she focused on being a full-time mom to her two young sons. When she’s not watching her boys and spending time with her husband Joey, Berit is a freelance editor of both fiction and non-fiction books, as well as working on new projects of her own. In this episode, Berit shares where her entrepreneurial journey began, and how she now uses similar systems to project manage her family which, contrary to popular belief, actually gives them more freedom. You’ll learn about her family’s worldly adventures, and why doing this as a family is such an important priority.
