The guest on this week’s StreamTime Podcast is Russell Wolff, the executive vice president and general manager of sports streaming subscription service ESPN+.  First, SportsPro chief executive Nick Meacham and senior content manager Chris Stone pick out some of the more interesting stories from recent weeks. They cover Google’s reported interest in the Indian Premier League (IPL) rights, as well as the moves being made in Germany by S-Nation, the new streaming platform launched by former German Football League (DFL) chief executive Christian Seifert. Creative Octopus Russell Wolff, a DJ, writer, musician, producer, photographer, LA politician &amp;  comedian, has been on stage since the age of 7. Wolff stumbled accidentally into the comedy world when beloved comedian Eric Andre asked him to DJ his Bar Mitzvah on Adult Swim in the Los Angeles party of the century.  Wolff is a Harvard grad &amp; and steadfast advocate for equal rights who has spent his entire life in the entertainment industry. In 2015 he became both a recording studio owner and an ordained minister after witnessing the brutal discrimination leveled against same sex couples seeking to get married. Since then he has performed over 20 unions for all types of couples. He got his start in New York City working in Theatre before beginning his career in audio. Russell is an ASCAP member, a voting member of the Grammy’s, a multi-instrumentalist, and a DJ and live sound mixer. Throughout his career he’s worked with the talented acts of Martina McBride, LL Cool J, and has worked on albums under Atlantic Records.   While Russell was attending Harvard, he released six albums. More recently, Russell completed the 365 Project, where he wrote a song each day for a full year. The project was started to help lift the spirits of a close friend, Dana, who was diagnosed with a terminal illness.
