He grew up in Grandview, Missouri, and graduated from Ruskin High School. He received his B.A. in history from Drury College. Mr. Sitton began working for Missouri State Parks in 1994 at Deutschheim State Historic Site in Hermann, Missouri, as the tourist assistant.
