Let’s use the insights from this podcast to become greater allies and take steps toward making a real difference in the LGBTQIA+ community with Reiki. Karen Harrison is a Senior Licensed Reiki Master Teacher with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT). She teaches various Reiki levels, including Holy Fire® III Karuna Reiki® Master and is the Co-Director of the ICRT's Licensed Reiki Master Teacher Training Program. Since starting her Reiki studies in 1993, she has trained with several ICRT teachers and Japanese Reiki Masters. Her work has also featured in the Reiki News Magazine.Besides Reiki, she's a licensed Professional Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist, with 22 years of spiritual counseling at Unity Church of Overland Park, Kansas.Gillian Power, a trans woman and registered Reiki Master, brings a wealth of personal and professional experience to our conversation. Hailing from the Midwest, Gillian discovered the transformative power of Reiki during her transition in 2013/2014, an experience she'll share in depth on our podcast. Apart from her spiritual journey, she currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer for Lambda Legal, a non-profit law firm dedicated to advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals living with HIV. She serves on the firm's enterprise risk management committee and culture diversity and inclusion committee. Gillian is an active member of the legal technology community, having served for five years as a committee member, including two as a thought leader for the annual International Legal Technology Association conference. In this episode, she tells her personal story about transitioning as a law firm CIO and how that has shaped her views on diversity and inclusion.
