We welcome UND’s 2016-17 Male and Female Athletes of the Year, Quinton Hooker and Sydney Griffin, to talk about a historic year for the Fighting Hawks. Quinton talks to us about pursuing his NBA dream, how the men’s basketball program evolved during his time at UND, what had been missing from the program, his favorite Brian Jones outbursts, which of his assistant coaches was the most intense, and what it’s been like seeing his peers lose their programs due to budget cuts. Sydney discusses being named Big Sky Conference Volleyball MVP, leading the program to its first NCAA Division I Tournament, the time head coach Mark Pryor angered the entire team (and it worked), how the team will deal with having a target on its back next season, and much more.
