Signs point to “less helpful” as we discuss how dismissive it is of our present difficulties. Is anyone suggesting that by forcing ourselves to find every moment magical or by never acknowledging how hard parenting is, that we will somehow get to skip the heartbreak when our kids get older and don’t need us as much?
