I've always deeply admired songwriters. I've been playing guitar and singing since before I could talk, but I never really had a knack for rhyme or lyricism. My guest this week, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Katie Ludden, is kind of the opposite: she's been singing and writing catchy songs since she was a kid, but didn't start playing the guitar until she was twenty-nine. Through dedicated, deliberate daily practice, and the support of her LA songwriting group, she went from being able to play just two chords to performing multiple original songs on a weekly basis.
