He is very child and client focussed with their needs being the driving force for service improvement during his career. His experience derives from a number of diverse roles he has undertaken during his career as a youth worker, voluntary sports coach, safeguarding lead, residential child care officer and manager, children’s social worker, training and development officer, strategic workforce lead, children’s workforce development manager and as the strategic business manager within three Local Safeguarding Children Boards/Partnerships.  In 2018 he undertook Serious Incident Learning Process Training (SILP) and was accredited as a case reviewer, which further developed his skills for undertaking/commissioning serious child/adult safeguarding case reviews. This role was extended across the LA area, recruiting and training three strategic managers to undertake reviews where he was Safeguarding Partnership Manager.  Since then he has co-authored a number of internal learning reviews, Local Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and Safeguarding Adult Reviews.  As the business manager for large County Children Safeguarding Board/Partnership he effectively collaborated with senior leaders and politicians in ensuring they fulfil their statutory responsibilities for safeguarding children, young people and adults, and has a sound understanding of the complexity and diversity of organisational responsibilities and expectations and how to develop mutually respectful professional relationships.  Engagement + proportionality + strengths = SILP
