Pádraig Kenny is an Irish writer. He started his career writing radio drama. As an arts journalist, he has contributed work to the Irish Times, the Sunday Tribune, the Sunday Independent, the Irish Examiner, and several other publications.His debut novel Tin was published by Chicken House in 2018 and was Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month. It has been nominated for the CILIP Carnegie Medal and the Northern Ireland Book Awards. Padraig Kenny - The Monsters and Shadows of Rookhaven

1994 Connacht Champions Aidan Rooney and Padraig Kenny reminisce on that famous day in Hyde Park. On the 25th Anniversary of that famous Nestor Cup victory there was no other subject that could feature on this week's In Focus show.  Breifne chats to Aidan and Padraig about their memories of playing for Leitrim through the early nineties successive league promotions and building up to that famous victory in 1994.  The impact of managers PJ Carroll and John O'Mahony and a double crop of minor and Under 21 players coming through together proved to be a perfect storm for Leitrim Football with an Under 21 (91) and Senior (94) title and the inspiration for a Minor title in 1998.  Both men talk about the legacy of that Connacht victory and the significance of that victory for the entire county, not just the group of players and staff involved.
