Peter Kauzer talks Covid, Olympics and the pressure to succeed

Peter Kauzer is the 2017 World Paddle Awards Sportman of the Year, Peter Kauzer.Peter is a Canoe Slalom Men’s Kayak athlete, a Redbull athlete. He had the honour to be the  flag bearer for his country Slovenia at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.Peter earned this prestigious position thanks to his outstanding results during his 15 years long career. In fact, Peter is one of the most successful Men’s Kayak in Canoe Slalom and a highly regarded athlete. Since he first won his ticket into the Senior Slovenian team in 2003, with an incredible last selection run in Tacen, he has medaled 23 times at major  individual events including the Olympic Games, the Senior World Championships, the Senior European Championships; these medals include 13 wins with 2 World Champion titles in 2009 (Seu, ESP) and 2011 (Bratislava, SVK), 1 European Champion Title in 2010 (Bratislava, SVK) and 3 times Overall World Cup Winner in 2009, 2011 and 2015. He won his first World Cup in Seu at the age of 23.Peter Kauzer is a master of skill and technique He likes to think of kayaking a ballet on the water. After 3 Olympics Games (Beijing, London, Rio) he is still chasing the elusive gold medal.
