SHOW #328We open the show speaking with Cindy MacLeod from The Calgary International Blues Festival.  A Festival Partner with Music On The Couch, this week long event brings the best of the blues to the beautiful city of Calgary.The Hitman Blues Band has a brand new album entitled, The World Moves On.  Russell Alexander returns to The Couch to talk about the music and what has been going on with the band since their visit in April 2013.Jim Suhler last sat on The Couch in February 2014 when Panther Burn was released.  His new album, Live At The Kessler Theater will be released in June and he will come by to talk about the live recording and where he is headed.Bill Phillippe sat with me in March of 2015 when Ghosts was released.  He returned to talk about the fund-raising campaign for the new album Parade.  Now he returns with the finished product and we will talk about the entire recording process and where he is heading.Sugar Blue and I missed when he was scheduled to be on the show a few weeks back.  We were able to reschedule him so that we can share the new music from his album, Voyage.

SHOW #297 – Live, Uncut &amp; Uncensored Conversations with “Musicians You Should Know”Bill Phillippe sat with me back on March 30, 2015.  He is working on a new album and on the Couch Kid New Music Segment we will talk about the fan-funding campaign Bill is running.Brad Vickers and the Vestapolitans have new music, and the album is called That’s What They Say and it is a collection of songs that explore the roots of the music even deeper than they have in the past, both in sound and in material. I’ll sit with Brad and talk about the making of the album and what has been going on in his life since his last visit in June 2013.Reverend Freakchild brings his own brand of irreverence to his music and on his latest release, Hillbilly Zen-Punk Blues, he brings it hard. Recorded in Williamsburg, Brooklyn Freakchild enlisted the talents of world famous musicians.  He and I will discuss his journey and where the road is leading.The Beat Daddys formed in 1986 and have spent the last 30 years bringing their blend of roots music to audiences around the world.  I’ll chat with Larry &amp; Tommy about their partnership, making the IBC last year and much more as we check out tunes from their new album, Hoodoo That We Doo.Finally, Damon Fowler returns to Couch Kid New Music with his new album Live 2015.    Can’t wait to chat with Damon again and find out all he has been up to since his last visit March of 2014.  We’ll, of course, share some songs from the album.

Oh, and he can also play guitar with the best of them. He now owns his own business in Clarksdale and ships his custom harmonicas around the globe. Deak and I will explore his life and career and we will share tunes from his album Clarksdale Breakdown.Mary Hott has spent most of her career in a supporting role, working as a session vocalist in NYC and spending time at Berklee School of Music in Boston Her debut album Shaman Lover is her time to step into the spotlight with help from Billy Thompson on guitar and also as musical director. Mary and I will explore her career and life and share the music from the new album. Bill Phillippe, is a talented solo acoustic guitarist with stylings from the pre-war blues era.  His album, Ghosts, is a collection of originals and songs which Bill has imprinted with his personal stamp. We'll explore his career and the last 20 years of playing all around San Franciso.Kelly Richey first Sat On The Couch in Dec. 2010 and then again in Feb. 2013.  Tonight she wil join me to talk about the new music she is recording and releasing slowly.  The album doesn't even have a title yet! We will also talk about her new band, her guitar instruction platform and continuing with her life coaching.
